MORE ABOUT ME
My training started in 2011 as a nervous 10-year-old who loved the idea of martial arts. I had tried a few other schools but upon walking into Wilkes it quickly became clear that this was a school that was a cut above the rest. 10 years, 3 black belts and some blood sweat and tears later and I am loving it more than ever. Martial arts has been a source of strength, growth and enjoyment for me for a decade now and I can’t see myself ever stopping. While I still feel like that nervous 10-year-old at times martial arts has given me the strength to overcome those feelings and act with confidence and self-assurance. To me this is one of the most valuable things about Wilkes, where there is not simply an investment in your physical ability but in your personal growth, something I have made great strides in thanks to the awesome team here. Having been through kids and teens class in my time here I have almost grown up in the gym and am proud to call it my second home. I have learned many great values here in my time training, which I am as proud of having learned as achieving my black belts. Earning my black belts have instilled in me a sense that anything can be mine, so long as I am willing to put in the work to earn it.
Now, having the chance to teach and to do the same for many who walk into the gym as my instructors have done for me is a huge privilege and I am committed to putting my best work into instructing the next generations of martial artists.
