MORE ABOUT ME
My journey into martial arts began unexpectedly, as I stumbled upon a jiu-jitsu class that evoked memories of my childhood wrestling matches with my sister (which often ended with me losing).
At first glance, jiu-jitsu may seem deceptively simple, but beneath its surface lies an intricate system of controlling and overcoming a resisting opponent. It is a realm where victory is not solely determined by physical strength or speed, but by the depth of knowledge and understanding one possesses. This fact has shaped my focus in jiu-jitsu—to continually delve deeper into the art, pay homage to its historical roots, and stay at the forefront of its constant evolution.
One of the most fulfilling moments of my career has been witnessing my wife and sister embrace the sport and surpass even my wildest expectations. Watching them fearlessly take on male opponents who outweigh them and emerge victorious serves as a daily reminder of the immense power jiu-jitsu holds, empowering those who are often considered powerless in society.
Teaching on and off the mats has become my true passion. It is a tremendous honour for me to share my knowledge and guide others on their own jiu-jitsu journeys. These days, my mat time is dedicated to nurturing beginners, providing them with support, and fostering their growth during those pivotal early years. I have seen first-hand the transformative physical and mental benefits of jiu jitsu on people’s lives. My students are on the road to be future world leaders, medical professionals, and UFC champions alike.
